With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Renee Earhart, a devoted servant of Christ, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and retired critical care nurse. Renee passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and love that touched countless lives.
Born in Kennedy, Texas, to Allan Locklier and Ruth McManus, Renee was raised in San Antonio and attended Thomas Jefferson High School. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Ron Earhart, and together they began building their family in Colorado. Renee was a devoted and loving mother of four, always putting the needs of her family first.
While raising a growing family, Renee earned her nursing degree and began her career as a critical care nurse at Northern Colorado Medical Center. She served the greater Northern Colorado community for over 33 years, receiving numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career. Yet her greatest reward came from the thousands of patients and families she helped comfort and guide through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. To many, she was truly a beacon of light in times of darkness.
Renee was also a woman of deep faith and an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church. After retirement, she continued serving others as a hospice nurse until COVID-19 and health limitations led her to step back from volunteer work. In her later years, she devoted herself to being a loving wife and grandmother. She tenderly cared for her ailing husband and helped guide her family through his passing just ten months earlier. Renee shared her love, faith, and positivity with everyone around her.
Renee was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, her brother, Allen Britten Locklier Jr., and her husband of nearly 60 years, Ron Earhart.
She is also lovingly remembered by her surviving children: Christine (Tim) McLaughlin, Carrie (Jacob) Effinger, R. Patrick (Anne) Earhart, and Joshua Earhart. Her loving grandchildren: Chelsea Gray, Michaela (Kalob) Huggins, Antony Gray, Elizabeth Earhart, David Earhart, Madeline Effinger, Charity (Patrick) Hoofard, Lisa Abella, Anna Quinones, and Stephanie Lawson; along with 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by her siblings: Dalton Locklier, Lana Washington, and Gary Locklier.
A funeral service celebrating Renee’s life will be held on March 28 at 10:30 AM at:
Trinity Episcopal Church
