Paul Benjamin Kulik age 98 died on October 14, 2021. He was born on January 9, 1923 to John Thomas Kulik and Anna Bezmak in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. He lived previously in Landsdale, Bradford, Wellsboro, and Williamsport Pennsylvania as well as Corning, New York. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Marcia Bernice Printup and his son John Thomas Kulik (Wellsboro High School Class of 1973). He is survived by his children Karen Deasey (Frank Deasey), Janice Kulik Schmidt (John Schmidt), Bruce Kulik (Maggie Schmitt / WAHS 1975) and Lauren Kulik (Tony Evans / WAHS 1981). He is also survived by his grandchildren Alan Schmidt, Katie Kasinskas, Frank Deasey, Michael Deasey, Katherine Kulik and John Kulik. In addition, he is survived by his great grandchildren Ellery Kasinskas, Luca Kasinskas and Bailey Schmidt. Paul was a wonderful father who valued education. He attended Columbia University and graduated from The University of Virginia, Niagara University and Villanova University with a master’s degree. He was extremely proud to have his children graduate from Dickinson College, Cornell University (2), Dartmouth College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as his older two daughters graduating from Women’s Medical College of Pennsylvania and Harvard Medical School within days of each other. Lt. Kulik was a veteran who served active duty in World War Two and the Korean War and later retired from the Naval reserve. In WW II he was stationed on Trinidad Island as a radio operator. There he acquired the skills to continue as a lifelong amateur radio operator call sign N3GHQ. While he was in the navy, he was also stationed briefly on Ocracoke Island, NC and this became the site of the annual family summer vacation. He learned to ski at age 44 and last skied at Keystone when he was 88 years old. He became a PADI certified scuba diver at age 74. He was an avid gardener all his life and passed his love for the outdoors to his children. He worked for many years at the Corning/GTE Light Bulb Factory as an electrical engineer. After his retirement he traveled the world extensively to all the continents with his long-term companion Trudy King who also predeceased him. Paul was an active developer of the Shared Home in Wellsboro and considered moving there but ultimately moved to Colorado in 2014 to be with his daughter Janice. He also did mission work in the Dominican Republic with fellow members of the first Baptist Church of Wellsboro, PA building much needed schools and medical facilities.
