Paul Frith was born in Dubuque, Iowa on February 4th, 1934. He was the youngest of five children born to Anna Catherine Schilling and Eugene T. Frith. His siblings Tom Frith and his wife Mary; Robert Frith and wife Florence; and Elaine Frith and her husband Ralph Digman, preceded him in death. He is survived by his oldest brother, Eugene Frith, and his wife Joan.
Paul graduated from Loras Academy on June 6, 1952 with distinction. He began studying at Loras College where he played football. Just one year in, Paul enlisted in the Army on January 30, 1953 and served during the Korean War. He was stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina where he completed over 20 jumps as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was honorably discharged on November 4th, 1955 and earned the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals.
On June 28, 1954 he married Mary Elaine Jungels. They had six children and were married for 63 years. Paul and Mary moved to Colorado in 1969 when Paul took a job with Oscar Mayer as a salesman where he worked most of his career. Mary passed away on October 19, 2017 in Golden, Colorado.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, wood working, riding motorcycles, and trips to the mountains of Colorado.
He is survived by his children: Tom and his wife Cindy; Paula; Diane; John; Peter and his wife Annette; and Teresa and her husband Jody. His grandchildren, oldest to youngest are: Anthony Frith, Michele Ramirez (husband Ricardo), Peterson Frith, Christopher Zuber, Matthew Frith, and Joseph Zuber. Michele and Ricardo are the parents of Paul and Mary’s three great grandchildren, Eric, Alex, and Eli.
Services for Paul will be held on Wednesday February 27, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Golden. A rosary will precede services at 09:30. There will be a reception following the Mass and Paul will be buried with military honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 1:00 PM. All friends and family are welcome.
