Olgie was preceded in death by Ladwic Joseph Smith, her loving husband of 39 years, and their son, David Ladwic Smith in 2005. Olgie Vesti Shelton was born in Ripley, Mississippi to John and Dessie Shelton on October 12th, 1927. She grew up on a dairy farm in Bartlett, Tennessee shared by her ten brothers and sisters. The family was very talented, loving and playing music. Their Dad was strong, an open Bible reciting verses for any given moment. Their Mom was the sweetest and kindest person, an absolute angel. Amazing Grace was one of Olgie's favorite hymns and her lullaby to her children, and then to her grandchildren and this tradition has carried on. From the Shelton’s first born in 1913 to the passing of Olgie as the last surviving sibling, this generation of 104 years comes to a close. However, they have left a legacy of love and joy that lives on in the 100 plus of their offspring. Olgie was a beautiful daughter and sister, a wonderful wife, an amazing Mom, the most loving and incredible grandma and great-grandma. She loved her family passionately, loved life, and her favorites -butterflies, birds and flowers. She was an incredibly classy, funny and beautiful lady. She will be missed beyond words, and we will forever cherish our memories and celebrate her life and legacy. It gives us joyous comfort that because of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, she is now walking the streets of gold with all those that love her and have passed on before. There is a joyous reunion, music and celebration with family and our Father God. A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Centerpoint Community Church, 6265 Garrison Street in Arvada, Colorado.
