Mac Gregory, age 80, of Ken Caryl Ranch, Colorado, went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, August 30th, 2019. He was born the “baby of the family” to Harry and Ethel Gregory on September 18th or 19th, 1938, in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Not even he knew the correct date!
Mac graduated from Norton Community High School in 1957 and attended Kansas Wesleyan University on a football scholarship. Mac married Jean Hicks, his high school sweetheart in 1958, and moved to Colorado to start their family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean, daughter Laurie and her husband Jim Claunch, son Scott and his wife Jennifer and five wonderful grandkids and their spouses: Taylor and Alix Claunch, Jill and Zach Tinker, Skyler, Luke Mac and McKenzie and two great grandchildren Murry Claunch and Colden Mac Tinker. He is also survived by sister- in- law Dee Gregory Longwith and many nieces and nephews: Joyce, Jane, Kem, Linda, Barry, Brad, Gale, Dale, Jeff and Kevin. Mac was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ethel, his 5 brothers and a sister: Phyllis Willey, Bub(Marvin), Vern, Ronnie, Tiny(Dale) and Joe.
Mac enjoyed being with his family and friends. He enjoyed the great outdoors, camping, campfires, fishing, jeeping, motorcycling, beating people at cards, laughing and eating. Mac was ornery as the day is long; he loved Bishy-Bishy-Bam-Bam and giving a hot foot. He loved to attend church. Worshipping the Lord through music was one of Mac’s greatest joys. Mac was a kind and humble man who enjoyed being in the middle of any gathering of family and friends where people would naturally gravitate toward him. Mac loved people and people loved Mac. Mac would have told you that his greatest accomplishment was his family and friends. Mac loved people unconditionally. He worked at Xcel Energy (Public Service of Colorado) in Energy diversion; his kids say he spied on people who stole their utilities.
Mac started the Bean Walk Mission in Mexico 10 years ago, feeding people and introducing them to Jesus. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to donate to Macs Bean Walk Mission in the basket for cards in the foyer, in care of Jean Gregory or at the links below:
