Nancy Marie Sanders August 19th 1950-February 20th 2017 Nancy Marie Sanders died unexpectedly and peacefully at her home Aurora, Colorado. Nancy is survived by her mother Ann Russell of Fort Collins, CO, her brothers Timothy (Patricia) Sanders of Lake Forest, IL, Michael (Jane) Sanders of Boulder, CO and her sister Karen Moore of Fort Collins CO. She was greatly loved and will be missed deeply by her family including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces/nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Donald Sanders of Johnstown, PA and her stepfather Robert Russell of Fort Collins, CO. Nancy was born in Johnstown, PA. She graduated from Carmel High School, Mundelein, IL (1968), and then received her BA from Viterbo University, Lacross WI (1972) and her MBA from the University of Denver(1995). She was a successful woman having a long career in business working at Coors, ATT and Comcast leading many teams to excellence. Nancy was always engaging in some sort of outdoor or athletic activity, it brought her joy to move and to spend time in her beloved Rocky Mountains. Although not born in the state she embodied all the qualities of a Colorado native. Nancy was an accomplished cycler and she completed Ride the Rockies, a 65-75 mile annual bicycle tour on several occasions. She was an avid and adventurous hiker and completed a trek to Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2006. You could also find her participating in triathlons or on the slopes enjoying fresh powder with her sister Karen. She was a dedicated and diehard Bronco fan, win or lose Nancy would be cheering them on. With eternal optimist she bought lottery tickets every week sure she would win. She serenaded many with her singing and guitar playing skills. She was a wonderful cook and connoisseur of food, she lead many of her family to try new things and always brought something new and interesting to family get togethers. She was a generous dedicated friend who loved many and was passionate about her spirituality. She trusted the universe to meet her needs and those of others. She was an active volunteer for many organizations and had a passion to help others. Some charities she was involved with include Kenyon Children’s Foundation, Bridge Project, and Ceders at UCHealth. She was an active and dedicated member of the New Dawn Center of Spiritual Living in Aurora, CO. Nancy will be remembered by family and friends as a kind, gentle and patient individual who encouraged all to pursue their dreams and goals. A funeral is scheduled for May 20th from 2-4pm at New Dawn Center for Spiritual Living, 3138 S. Parker Road, Aurora, CO 80014. All are welcome to celebrate Nancy’s life.
