Maude "Annette" Parsley-Stamm, beloved mother, fur-child grandmother, friend, and dedicated community leader, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at the age of 80 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Born and raised in Oak Cliff, Texas, Annette was the daughter of Minor Parsley and Maude Walters-Parsley. She was an active member of North Oak Cliff Baptist Church throughout her childhood, where she built a foundation of faith that guided her throughout her life. She attended W.H. Adamson High School, where she excelled as a Leopardette, a member of the student council, and a singer in the Select Chorus. Her passion for storytelling and leadership shone through in her roles as reporter, feature editor, and president of the school newspaper.
She continued her education at East Texas State University, where she became a devoted member of the Alpha Phi sorority, forming lifelong friendships and embracing her love of leadership and service.
Annette built a distinguished 25-year career in banking, beginning at First Bank-Southwest Savings in Dallas and later taking on leadership roles at Bank of North Texas, First Interstate, and Wells Fargo. Beyond her professional achievements, she was deeply committed to serving her community.
Whether in Florida or Texas, Annette played active roles in the Chamber of Commerce, the Keller Library Board, the Keller Women’s Junior League, and many other organizations. She had a special passion for literacy and spent countless hours reading to children as a volunteer with Best Buddies, sharing her love of learning.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Annette was a devoted member of Gateway Church in North Richland Hills, Texas, where she found great joy in singing with the choir and participating in numerous groups.
In late 2021, Annette began spending extended periods in Colorado Springs with her daughter and eventually moved permanently to MacKenzie Place, where she quickly made friends and became a cherished part of the senior community.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Minor Parsley and Maude Walters-Parsley; her first husband, Eddie NeSmith; her second husband, Bud Stamm; and her siblings, Dorsett Parsley, Elizabeth Parsley, Dwight Parsley, Maurice Parsley-Mallow, and Virginia Parsley-Bishop. She is survived by her son, Judd NeSmith; her daughter, Jolie NeSmith; and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was also a proud fur-child grandmother and adored her four-legged family dearly.
Annette will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering faith, and dedication to making a difference in the lives of those around her. Her legacy of love, service, and leadership will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
