Born on 12/18/1931 in Denver, CO. Mary was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and friend. She dedicated her life to her family.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Earl L. Reum. She is survived by her four children (Josef and wife Elizabeth Piersol), (Lyn and Peter Neilley), (Tracy and Malcolm Koontz) (Margaret and James Curtin), along with 7 treasured grandchildren.
Mary was born in the Congress Park neighborhood in Denver. She attended St. Philomena’s grade school, St. Mary’s High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Loretto Heights College and was a graduate of Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design.
M’el turned to puppetry at a very young age. Throughout her life she was always a member of the Puppeteers of America…….National President in 1982. She attended and taught at many of the Puppet Festivals throughout the years. She performed at Conventions, Workshops, Television Shows and traveled the world with The Kramer Puppet Theater.
M’el was creative, imaginative and an accomplished puppeteer, artist and teacher. She had a great sense of humor and always had time for family, friends, and new acquaintances. M’el was also a supportive and empathetic listener. She traveled extensively throughout her life. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious to all who knew her.
Her love will live on in our hearts and daily lives. We should have comfort knowing that she is at peace, but her absence leaves a void that will never be filled. Rest in Peace Dear Mom, you will forever be loved and cherished.
A Funeral Service will be held at Ave Maria Catholic Church 9056 E. Parker Rd. Parker, CO 80138 on March 22, 2025 at 12:00 PM, where we will celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that you support a local artist whether it be a donation, a show, an art fair, a student exhibit, the symphony, the ballet, or a PUPPET SHOW……please support and remember The Arts that Mom so lovingly valued in her life.
