Marshall was born in Vincennes, Indiana, and graduated from Muncie Central High School and Ball State University (B.S., accounting). Honors included Lambda Chi Alpha membership, Blue Key Honor Society selection, Mr. Greek Award 1961, and Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities listing.
After college he attended Officer's Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, and was stationed at the U. S. Naval Communications Station in San Miguel, Philippines where, in1962, he married his college sweetheart, Dee (Everhart). He later served at the Naval Communication Station in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where he worked in Naval Intelligence and received the National Defense Service Medal and Navy Unit Commendation Medal.
As a civilian, he served as manager for International Harvester truck division, Samsonite Corporation, Translogic Corporation, and Libbey Owens Ford auto glass division. He later became a real estate professional and retired from Evilsizer Real Estate in 2012.
Until losing his battle with COPD, he worked part-time for Enterprise Car Rental in Denver, Colorado.
He and Dee enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling to Europe and Alaska, as well as camping in the Colorado mountains and national parks in their RV. A 50th wedding anniversary cruise took them to the Hawaiian islands, Samoa, Tahiti, Bora Bora, and Moorea. His hobbies and interests included Civil War and World War II history, woodcarving, and photography.
Marshall is survived by his wife Dee (Everhart); sons Todd (Sarah) Evilsizer, Aurora, Colorado, and Brad (Julie) Evilsizer, Olathe, Kansas; three grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Evilsizer of Converse, Texas. He was predeceased by son Steven.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 3:00 pm on March 5 at New Hope Presbyterian Church where he had served as an elder. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Halcyon Hospice, 209 Main Street, Unit B, Mead, CO 80542 or to New Hope Presbyterian Church, 3737 New Hope Way, Castle Rock, CO 80109.
