Margaret Susan Lewis Unruh was born April 30, 1929 In Shelbyville, Indiana, to Bessie and Jerry Lewis. She was the youngest of 5 sisters, and 1 brother. She died peacefully in her home at the age of 93 on February 14, 2023 in Colorado Springs.
She married the love of her life, Robert Unruh, on August 12, 1951, together they raised 2 daughters, Jacqueline and Frances, and 2 sons, Robert, Jr., and Michael.
They spent their earlier years traveling due to various Army assignments, as Bob was in the US Army. They lived overseas in Germany, as well as living in Indiana, Texas, California, Maryland, and Colorado. After farming in Burlington, they chose Colorado Springs as their forever home.
They found Hilltop Baptist Church and soon became lifelong members of their church family.
Margaret was predeceased in death by her parents, Bessie and Jerry Lewis; her sisters, Pauline, Alice, Delpha, and Florence; and one brother, Samuel "Buddy" Her husband Robert, Sr., and her son, Robert, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Jacqueline (Scott) Blake, Frances (Earl) Barr, Michael (Kimberly) Unruh. 11 Grandchildren: Fontaine, Sabrina (Gene), David, Tanya (Mike),
Jennifer (Neil), Stephanie, Chad (Cynthia), Kristin (Luke), and Lori (Jeff); 21 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; Niece Jeri Gurvitz, Cousin Evelyn Wall, and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was very fond of her Caretakers, Rosa Alvarez, and Jean Agee.
She loved her Lord, she loved her church and her entire church family.
She was bossy, she was sassy, and she loved living life on the edge-even in her older years ("How fast can this boat go? And does the RZR go any faster?" - mind you, she was 90!)
She was the consummate shopper, and she loved her morning donuts.
She will be missed by all those who knew her and loved her.
