Lucy Melanie Adler

Below is a song written about Lucy by her brother, William Adler.

LMA (Sonnett To A Sister)

Recorded on "Observations" Album

1

A sister's love

is somewhat like

The Rocky Mountain

range,

Obscured at times

by clouds and rain

But ever present

Just the same.

2

Through curving

cliffside trails

We grew,

At passes we clashed

over rights

it's true,

We echoed our family

through mountains

of time,

And slid down

to our futures

from the hills that

we'd climbed.

3

And our wanderings

through life's valleys

And to snow capped

mountain peaks,

Have never dulled the ties

that hold us bound,

And a spring will bring

us 'round again

As the Lark bunting

sings his tune,

And the Rocky Mountain

Columbine starts to bloom.

— CHORUS —

And you're Daddy's little daughter

And blood is still thicker than water

And there's a special understanding

Deep inside you.

And the times we spend apart

Cannot tear away from the heart

All the loving things you've done

And I'm glad you're family

4

And Lucy is my sister

She will be all her life,

The twinkle in her eye

Says that she's done

Something right.

She holds us all together

With her dazzle and

her wit,

When the world tells her

She must jump and run

She does the opposite.

She loves to spring surprises

One can never tell,

What she'll do tomorrow

But this is Lucy Mel.

— CHORUS —

And you're Daddy's little daughter

And blood is still thicker than water

And there's a special understanding

Deep inside you.

And the times we spend apart

Cannot tear away from the heart

All the loving things you've done

And I'm glad you're family

5

So when the aspens

are in color,

And they paint a

season's end,

And the winter snows

come blowing through

the gorge,

Just remember that I'm

with you,

As we were so long ago

when we lived and grew

Together in our home.

— CHORUS —

And you're Daddy's little daughter

And blood is still thicker than water

And there's a special understanding

Deep inside you.

And the times we spend apart

Cannot tear away from the heart

All the loving things you've done

And I'm glad you're family
