Lucille was a lifelong devoted Catholic who volunteered faithfully in the church and eventually became a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fountain Valley, CA. She was passionate about ministering to others, from her early years as a pediatric nurse to her later years offering care to friends and family and those in need. Lucille embodied faith in action.
In San Francisco, CA Lucille met the love of her life, James “Jim” Fournier. They were married on September 22, 1962, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Their journey led them to many places because of Jim’s service to the United States Coast Guard, including Troy, New York; Honolulu; Cleveland, Ohio; Fountain Valley, California; Palos Hills, Illinois; Burke, Virginia; New Orleans; Las Vegas; and ultimately Lakewood, Colorado.
Lucille was a compassionate and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who graced all who had the privilege of knowing her with warmth and kindness, as well as laughter.
Lucille was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Irene Trihey; her brother Claude Trihey and his wife Leona; her sisters Anita Chapitis and her husband Lorne, Pauline Vorvis and her husband Jack; and her brothers-in-law, Ed Fournier and his wife Lois, and John Fournier and his wife Jan.
She is survived by her husband James Fournier, her children Susan Slepin and her husband Jeff; Timothy Fournier; and Stephen Fournier; her grandchildren Renee Fournier and Ryan Slepin and his wife Abbi; as well as many dear cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Lucille was surrounded by the love and prayers of family and friends in death; may she rest peacefully in her eternal home.
Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 15:57
