Lola was born on October 25, 1918 in Jerome Township, Midland County, Michigan. Lola passed on peacefully in her sleep on August 13, 2018. All during her life Lola enjoyed long walks and auto trips to the mountains East and West. Vacations were always by auto when visiting family or just touring in different parts of the country. Lola was an avid reader and enjoyed needlework and sewing. In her younger years she enjoyed a good game of tennis with her brother and others. In 1935-36 she won the National High School Scholastic medal in tennis.
Lola is the daughter of the Rev. Benjamin F. Wade born 1884 in Vanderbilt MI and Lottie (aka) Charlotte B. (Mansfield) Wade born 1894 in Battle Creek MI (both deceased). Lola was preceded in death by a sister Trina Ossman and a brother Dr. Franklin Wade.
In 1937 Lola was married to Kenneth W. Baker of Shelby, MI until his death in 2003. As a couple they remained in Michigan, raised their daughter Barbara and enjoyed their daily lives. For many years Lola worked for Wurzburgs and Herpolsheimers Dept. Stores in Grand Rapids. In later years Lola and Ken made their home in California and Delaware. Lola is survived by her daughter Barbara G. Zahn, granddaughter Cordie E. Lyon, son-in-law Alfred A Zahn and many nieces and nephews. Lola will be cremated and her ashes distributed as she wished in the mountains, on the shores of Mackinaw, MI and buried next to her husband in Michigan at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids, MI. There is no memorial service planned. She will be Forever in our Hearts.
