Lois “Marlene” Jones of Arvada passed away on Sunday March 9, 2025 at the age of 91 from lung cancer. She was born on August 28,1933 in Denver, Colorado. Marlene grew up in Lakewood, Colorado graduating from Lakewood High School in 1951. She worked for 20-plus years as a civilian pay clerk at the US Air Force Finance Center in Denver, before retiring in 1978. In 1952 Marlene married Lewis Greeno (deceased 1975), which produced 5-sons. In 1962 Marlene married Daniel Gray (deceased 1970) and produced twin boys. In 1976 Marlene married Kenneth Jones (3-Stepchildren). She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Gladys (Thomas) Nelson; husband, Kenneth Jones; sister, Bertie Enders, brother, Arthur “Buck” Nelson, sister, Janet Greeno, sons, Tim Greeno and Dan Greeno and stepdaughter, Cindy Adams. Marlene is survived by her sister, Barb Roberts; sons, Mike Greeno, Pat (Lou) Greeno, Dennis Greeno, George Gray, Gene (Corinne) Gray; stepdaughter, Kathy (Carl) Schmidt and step-son, Tom (Margie) Jones; and 22-grandchildren; 9-step-grandchildren; 36-great-grandchildren; 16-step-great-grandchildren; 7-great-great-grandchildren; 1-step-great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Marlene is best remembered for her loving devotion to her family. Her incredible creative talents in cooking, baking, gardening and knitting touched everyone. She was always available for conversation, to play cards, or to go out to lunch or dinner. She loved reading the paper every day, drinking coffee, and doing Sudoku. Marlene was an avid lover of all thing’s cats. She had many cats over the years. Her last being the three-legged “Lucky.” She was so loved and cherished by so many and will long be remembered and greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 5:00 PM-8:00M in Arbor House at Maple Grove Park, 14600 W 32nd Ave, Golden, CO 80401.
