Lloyd was born in Mitchell, NE. Growing up on a farm he learned many skills which prepared him to be the best husband, father, teacher and all around handyman/maintenance coordinator. Lloyd earned a B.A. degree from Rockmont College in Denver, furthered his education to earn his teaching certification. Lloyd taught school for the Denver Public Schools until early 80's. After teaching in schools he worked for Rockmont College and Woodbine Ranch Christian Youth Camp as maintenance engineer/ handyman until 1993.
Lloyd had a love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, the Bible as his guide, family, fishing, camping, travelling, and model trains. Because of his love for God's Word he joined the Gideons International to help share scripture throughout the world. He enjoyed the events where he could hand a New Testament to school aged children. Lloyd was active with the Gideons until Parkinson's Disease wouldn't allow him to continue. Although Lloyd had a long battle with Parkinson's, he was always a joy to be with, and was able to joke with those around him.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Mary Louise Bartz of Denver, Son Vernon (Nancy) Bartz of Aurora, CO, Son Larry (Sharon) Bartz of Morrison, CO, Daughter Cheryl (Steve) Stepec of Duluth, MN.
