Kelley Waite, 63, of Littleton, CO, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2017 in his home with family present. Kelley battled cancer for seven years with strength and courage that allowed him the time to travel and fish with his family and friends, as well as meet his first grandchild. Kelley was born in Springfield, Oregon to Harry “Bud” Waite and Marian Irene Waite on September 26, 1954. Kelley graduated from the University of Colorado where he developed a great affinity for music, especially jazz. He later married Diane, and enjoyed raising his two sons, Zachary Cody Waite and Andrew David Waite. After college, Kelley started his own landscaping business and then eventually started working for the State of Colorado in their facilities management department, working his way through facility maintenance to contract administration and management. Kelley had a love for fishing, especially fly fishing, that he shared with many friends and family and was able to pass his passion for fishing down to his sons. Kelley was very involved in Boy Scouts with his sons and braved many camping trips, took on numerous parent leadership roles in his sons’ troops over the years, and both of his sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with Kelley’s help and guidance. elley is survived by his ex-spouse Diane Carol Waite, his sons, Zachary Cody Waite and Andrew David Waite and daughter-in-law Courtney Elizbeth Waite, sister Elizabeth Marian (Waite) Olson, brother Andrew James Waite and sister-in-law Jill Sylvia Elfrieda Kleister, and his granddaughter Olivia Kelley Waite. He is also survived by many cousins and nieces. A Memorial service celebrating Kelley’s life will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, November 17, 2017 at Denver Botanic Gardens in the Gates Hall and Gates Garden Court located at 1007 York St, Denver, CO 80206.
