He was born to Irving and Helen Stoddard. He attended both the University of Idaho and University of Denver where he belonged to the Sigma Chi Fraternity. John served in the US Army Paratroopers, the US Navy, as well as the US Airforce, where he became an F-86 Jet Pilot. Upon his retirement from the military, John became a real estate salesman at Moore Realty. After which he formed a construction company which created multiple affordable housing units in Metro Denver. John continued in commercial real estate for many years after. John belonged to Albert Pike Lodge No. 117.
He leaves to mourn in passing his wife Marilyn of 67 years, two sons James (Marcy), Bruce (Julie) and daughter Barbara, as well as three grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
John will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love for sports and skiing and his summers at his Idaho cabin.
Services will be held at University Park United Methodist Church on February 16th, 2019 at 2:00 PM.
