

Jennifer Lynn Carney was born in Scottsbluff, NE to Lyle and Mary Jo Evans on August 21st, 1948. She is survived by her two younger brothers, Mike Evans and Bill Evans, and her younger sister Kathy Staudde. Mike Evans is married to Jill Evans, they have three daughters, Heather Evans, Michelle Schwartze, and Christi Evans. Heather Evans is married to Chris Cannizzaro. Michelle Schwartze is married to Aaron Schwartze and has two children, Emma and Keegan. Christi Evans has two children, Chloe and Quinn, and Kathy Staudde is married to Bruce Staudde.
Jennifer graduated from Nursing School in Lincoln, NE in 1969 with an RN. She married Michael Carney on July 4th, 1969. They welcomed their daughter Shawn Carney in 1972 and their son Scott Carney in 1975. Scott is married to Kristen Carney and they have a son Kael Carney and a daughter Kenzie Carney. She also had many aunts and uncles and cousins and friends that she loved very much.
Jennifer worked as a nurse for a brief time; she then chose to focus on raising Shawn and Scott. She also spent time as a life coach, worked at Walter’s Star Service and ended her career at Rocky Mountain Alarm. She was a Girl Scout troop leader and a great baker and beautiful cake decorator. She loved travel and adventure. One of her most loved trips was to Africa where she bungee jumped off of Victoria Falls. She also enjoyed her trip to Costa Rica where she was able to play with the monkeys.
She was devoted to the service of the Lord. She has taught many bible studies and Sunday school classes, at Faith Life Fellowship church and others. She was devoted to the study of the Bible and did so every day. She did her best to spread the good news, even from her hospital bed. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and the time she spent with them.
She died quickly from a sudden heart attack on September 14, 2025, with her husband by her side, as he had been for 56 years. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew her, we are grateful that she is with the Lord and that she can pick up shells on the beaches of heaven.
