It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beautiful soul, Brent Bedingfield. A loving father and devoted husband, Brent was a beacon of friendliness and positivity and touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on October 5, 1945, Brent brought joy and warmth into the world from the very beginning. His vibrant spirit and infectious smile brightened the lives of those around him. He approached each day with an unwavering sense of positivity, spreading kindness and goodwill wherever he went. He was especially close to his brother, Ray Bedingfield and his sister-in-law, Claudette Bedingfield. Ray, Claudette and Brent had many adventures over their 65 years of being a trio.
Brent's greatest joy in life was being a father to his beloved children, Liberty and Daniel and his step-children, Steve Hodges, Lindsay Hodges and Ben Hodges. He embraced his role as father and step-father with an abundance of love and dedication, providing unwavering support and guidance. His ten grandchildren were the light of his life and he was loved immensely by them all.
As a husband, Brent was a true partner and soulmate to his wife Carolyn. Their love was a testament to the power of friendship and mutual respect. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unconditional love.
Beyond his family, Brent was an eternal scholar. Even though he never graduated from high school, he went on to earn his PhD in Physiological Psychology and working in research facilities for many years. He was an inspiration to learning and education. He had a love of coffee, quarter pound cheeseburgers, whistling random tunes, politics and his beloved plants.
In addition to his infectious positivity, Brent had a keen sense of adventure and a love for the great outdoors. He enjoyed exploring nature, taking hikes, and embracing the beauty of the world around him. His appreciation for the simple pleasures in life served as a reminder to us all to find joy in the everyday moments.
Brent's memory will forever be cherished by his loving family and friends. He leaves behind his wife, five children, ten grandchildren, a niece, Laurel Bedingfield, a nephew Kenny Bedingfield and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Ray Bedingfield and Myrtle Glenn Bedingfield, his dear brother Ray and his sister-in-law Claudette. He will be missed tremendously and his memory cherished forever. May his body rest in peace and his soul forever fly free.
