

James (Jim) Langenheim, age 72, passed from this life at home in Lakewood, CO on June 16, 2025. Suffering from a long illness, Jim passed peacefully in his sleep early that Monday morning. Born and raised in Youngstown OH, Jim came from a large loving family. Charles (Chuck) and Marcella Langenheim had nine children, Jim being the sixth. Other extended family members were close by and some staying for a time with Chuck and Marcella. Jim graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and worked for a short time in one of the Youngstown steel mills, like his father. In the mid-1970s, Jim moved to Boulder, CO. After a short while, he was employed by Coors Brewing Company and stayed there for thirty-three years, retiring in 2009. Jim and O D Hand met in 1983 and started a loving partnership that lasted almost forty-two years. They lived in Lakewood, CO and were legally married in 2013.
Jim Langenheim loved music of all types, he loved hiking, and was passionate about environmental issues. Jim actively donated to a wide range of charities and issues that provided protection for the environment. He also tried to help his family when he could. Jim is survived by his partner O D Hand. The immediate surviving family includes sisters Shirley Mauerman of Canfield, OH, Carol Shellenberger of Campbell, OH, Rhonda Wem of Niles, OH, and Lori (Dennis) Demchak of Youngstown, OH. Kenneth Langenheim (Michael Casias) of Denver CO is the only surviving brother. Sister-in-law Deborah Langenheim of Austintown, OH also survives. There are also several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Marcella Langenheim of Youngstown OH, sister Patricia Bonham of Boardman, OH and brothers Richard Langenheim of Youngstown, OH and Ronald Langenheim of Austintown, OH. Brother-in-laws Gordon Mauerman, Robert Shellenberger, and Myron Wem and sister-in-law Patricia Langenheim have also passed
