James Robert Kelley, age 82, of Fountain, Colorado passed away peacefully on Thursday May 2, 2019 with his wife and daughter by his side after a long battle with cancer. James was born August 27, 1936 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to Elsie Geneva Kelley and James Henry Kelley.
James served in the army for 24 years and retired as a Master Sergeant after serving in Vietnam. He was also a retired Automotive Instructor with Central Texas College, a Master Locksmith and a Small Engine Mechanic.
James loved working on cars and small engines and spending time with his entire family.
James is survived by his wife, Martha E Kelley; son James Hans Kelley (Marijke Kelley); daughter Lolita Christine Kelley-Bast (Eric Bast Sr.); grandchildren Shannon E. Kelley, Amber K. Zappone, James H. Kelley II, Robert W. Kelley and Stephen T. Kelley; 2 step-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his son Thomas Henry Kelley.
A memorial service for James will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 12:00 PM at New Apostolic Church, 4625 Bradley Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80911. In lieu of flowers please donate to Bridges Hospice 7150 Campus Drive Suite 330, COS Colorado 80920 or a Veteran's non-profit agency in honor of him.
