Irene E Schwensen

Irene E. Schwensen was born Dec. 10, 1930 to Frank and Angelina Cichy in Chicago, IL. At age 7, the family moved to a farm in Moose Lake, MN, where she was raised. She moved to Chicago where she worked and met her husband Howard D. Schwensen. They were married Feb. 4, 1951 and lived in Council Bluffs, IA until moving to Arvada, CO in 1961. They resided in Arvada, raising their three girls, Dianna (Darrell) Johnson, Arvada; Rene (Doug) Burton, Erie; and Sylvia (Harlan) Hagelstrom, Arvada. Irene enjoyed children, working at daycare facilities, babysitting, bowling, visits to the casino, and her family getting together. She was a fiery and spunky little lady, who seemed to always draw children to her. Irene always enjoyed going out to eat, even towards the end of her life. Irene is survived by her husband Howard; daughters Dianna, Rene, and Sylvia; grandchildren Heidi, Kansas; Jason (Jenny), Minnesota; Josh, North Dakota; Brandi, Washington; Kevin, California; and numerous great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Fran (Ed) Craemer, Auburn, CA . She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Ed Craemer, Eugene Cichy, and Mike Wodziak.
