Gilberto “Gil” J. Valdez, age 81, passed away on January 23, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. He was born June 20, 1935 in New Mexico to Juan Maestas and Refugio Ruth Valdez. He married his 2nd wife Jean Valdez on January 24, 1975. Gil was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and loved by many. He is survived by his wife; sons Tom Valdez and Jamie Valdez; step-children Maureen Franklin, Randy Pfannenstiel, Jenny Slaughter, and Heidi VanDePol; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, brother Andy Valdez and a huge extended family. Memorial Service will be held at the SGI-USA Denver Buddhist Center, 1450 N Speer Blvd, Denver CO 80204, on Monday, February 6th, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
