George was born at Fitzsimmons General Hospital in Denver, Colorado on June 18, 1938. He was the son of George Washington Moore and Elizabeth Rogers Moore.
In August 1964 he graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts degree in math. During his time at the University of Colorado he married Elaine Blehm Moore who preceded him in death.
Besides math and computers, George’s passion was the great outdoors. He shared his love of the outdoors through “Duck Patrols” with his children, Todd, Sean, and Kathleen, as well as his nephew Kevin. George was an avid hiker, camper, stream fisherman, and golfer.
George married Lora on June 18, 1988. He joked that he could never forget their anniversary as it was on his birthday and was on Father’s Day that year. Lora and George enjoyed golfing and volunteered at several PGA tours. Their love of the outdoors took them to Yellowstone to work in the General Stores for several years. They also enjoyed ushering at the Denver Center for Performing Arts.
George is survived by his wife, Lora, son Todd (wife Katrina, children Breeanne and Gabriel, daughter in-law Katie), daughter Kathleen, nephew Kevin, daughter-in-law Nyla (husband Rob), stepson Ed (wife Janalee), stepdaughter D'Arcy (husband Clay, children Michael (wife Tina) and Tyler and grandchildren) and stepdaughter-in-law Tracey. He was preceded in death by his son Sean, son-in-law John, and stepson, John.
In lieu of flowers, George would want donations to Best Friends Animal Society in his memory. https://support.bestfriends.org/site/SPageServer/?pagename=memorial_gift
