After graduating high school, Gehrig attended Villa Madonna College (now Thomas Moore University) for two years. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army, served and was stationed in Germany for two years. His duties involved helping restore the physical and emotional devastation resulting from World War II. After honorable discharge, he returned to Villa Madonna to complete his degree in Business Administration, paid for by the GI Bill. He was the first in his family to graduate from college. While raising a young family whom he loved dearly and working in pharmaceutical sales, he earned his Master’s degree in marketing and administration from Xavier University. He enjoyed learning, teaching and managing his reps throughout the eight state district to call on doctors, answer their questions and keep them informed of the latest health developments. His priorities were FAITH, FAMILY & FOCUS!
He is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Harper Alcorn; father, George Alcorn; stepfather, Bernie McCaulley; daughters, Karen Marie Alcorn Meyer and Leah Marie Alcorn Story.

In lieu of flowers, please help our veterans and first responders at t2t.org/donation.Tunnel to Towers reports on 5% of donations go to administrative fees. “The Tunnel 2 Towers foundation builds mortgage free smart houses for our most catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. Each home is designed to address the unique needs of each individual.” The recipient gains their independence and dignity back by being able to contribute to the family again. Also homes with young families also become mortgage free to relieve the spouse of mortgage payments they are unable to pay due to the death of their spouse. It helps the survivor to raise their young children. God bless our country!
