Ett Foster Wilson, 76, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away on October 14, 2026, after a nearly seven-year battle with stage 4 lung cancer. She spent her final days in hospice care, surrounded by her husband and children.
Ett was born in Syracuse, New York, the youngest of five children, and moved to Chicago at age 19. There she met JC Wilson while working at the Federal Aviation Administration. They married on September 1, 1984, and a few months later moved to Longmont, Colorado, where they made their home for more than four decades and raised their two children. She worked as a computer support technician at the FAA until 2013.
Ett was sweet, funny, and fiercely loyal. She was happiest with a good book and a purring cat. She was passionate about taking care of her family, immediate and extended, and about loving animals. She loved Halloween, soap operas, black coffee, bargain hunting, the color green, medical dramas, old school country music, watching hot air balloons, and burnt popcorn. She was a snow skier, an avid reader, and once-upon-a-time a wing walker. Her life with stage 4 cancer was longer than anyone expected, and she filled those years with laughs, dinners, phone calls, and watching her grandchildren grow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Foster (1984) and Dorothy Young Foster (1974), and her siblings, Earl Foster (2022), Ivy West (2025), and Sue Greenwood (2003). She is survived by her husband of 42 years, JC Wilson; her daughter, Jennifer Wilson (Greg Zilis); her son, Cody Wilson (Jessica); her sister, Glad Remaly; and her grandchildren, Gabriel and Jemma Wilson. She will also be remembered by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local animal shelter.
To honor Ett’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A celebration of life is anticipated for spring 2027, and details will be shared when they are available.
