Ethel Phillips

Celebrating the life of Ethel Carolyn Phillips, May 4, 1935 - June 3, 2023. Ethel was a remarkable person who had a way of making everyone she met welcome and comfortable. She was born in the small town of Elmo, Missouri and was raised on a farm. She married Richard (Dick) Phillips in 1955, telling her kids later that it was because he was the only man her age in Elmo that was not related to her! During their 67+ years of marriage they had many adventures including having two children, Ken and Cindy, and living in Colorado, New York, Kansas, Missouri, Michigan, and France. Ethel was a remarkable partner to Dick and assisted him in many ways throughout his career. Ethel was also a fantastic cook and hosted many wonderful dinner parties for friends, family, and colleagues. She loved family, traveling, cross country skiing, hiking, playing cards and reading.

Ethel is survived by her husband Richard and her children Ken and Cindy. She was much loved and will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor and for being an amazing wife and mother.
