Born in Ohiowa, Nebraska, Ethel moved to Denver after World War II. There, she met and married Orville R. Benish. Ethel was a long time employee of the United Church of Christ in Denver and New York City. She and Orville retired in Denver.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orville and her daughter Catherine Brissman. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Benish(Charles Powell); grandchildren Sarah, Hannah, and Noah Hornbein (Ariana Solis); and great-grandchildren Temperance and Canaan Hornbein.
Ethel will be remembered for her quiet strength, key lime pie, and deep love for her family.
A private family service will be held to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a story or moment of kindness in her name.
