BL’s spirit of kindness and selflessness lives on in her son John Robert Ray (Gillian), her grandchildren Noah Charles Ray and Nathaniel Robert Ray, her nieces/nephews Marysue Huckabee, April Guice, Karen Fry, Kim Arellanes, George Wilcox, Edward Guice, Sally Leibbrandt, Holly Wirt, Janice Reed, Elizabeth Bisgard and Mike Reed, grand nieces/nephews, her devoted and loving Clermont caregivers and friends far and wide.
BL witnessed an everlasting happiness, hope and constant positive outlook on life. She saw the goodness in everyone, the light despite any darkness. This light of hers is summed up in an excerpt from her favorite hymn Whispering Hope, played often at the piano by “John (Preston) and Jimmy Howell” (Alice Hawthorne):
“Wait till the darkness is over, Wait till the tempest is done,
Hope for the sunshine tomorrow, After the shower is gone,
If in the dusk of the twilight, Dim be the region afar,
Will not the deepening darkness, Brighten the glimmering star?
Then when the night is upon us, Why should the heart sink away?
When the dark midnight is over, Watch for the breaking of day.”
