Eleanor June Downing

of June. She was born June 30, 1926 in Woodston, Kansas to Elton and Alice Murphy and was a Kansas girl at heart. She met her husband, Gerald, at school in Woodston. They married in 1947 and travelled to Colorado to put down roots and raise their family in the house that Gerald built for her in 1953.

June spent many years doing the bookkeeping for Donut Hut, the business that Gerald started and ran until he retired.

June and Gerald were married 49 years and had two children, Cheryl of Lakewood, Co., and Michael (Deb) of Englewood, Co. She is also survived by one brother, Donald (Laverta), of Topeka, Ks., three grandchildren, six great grand children and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, her husband and one grandson.

June was a long standing member of Englewood United Methodist Church and dearly loved all the friends she made there and in the neighborhood where she lived for about sixty five years.

Travel was a passion of both June and Gerald before he passed in 1996. She also loved crafting, camping, bowling and family gatherings.

She will be dearly missed by all her family and her large family of friends.
