Dean Carmichael of Cheeseman Park, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, May 4th at Rose Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was 94. Dean was a uniquely inspirational and out going man who truly lived by his own motto "Life is an Invitation to Live. No RSVP needed. Just do it!" His warmth, charm and wit was contagious and he was greatly loved by his large family and many long time friends.
Dean lived in Denver most of his life and had a life time career in what he called "Creative Selling." He was the founding owner of CPA, a successful wholesale carpet supply business located at the Denver Design Center in Denver.
He wrote his autobiography in 2013 and was working on a book for friends and family that he called, "I Came Without Batteries...and they aren't fully charged yet!" when he passed away.
He is survived by "the love of his life," Violet Hirsh, his brother Eldon Carmichael, daughters from his first marriage to Ann Boote Carmichael: Pam Clark and Devra Carmichael, and daughters, Lynda Pfaff and Diane Mueller and sons Hayden Burke and Brad Burke from his second marriage to Dolores Carmichael Watson. Dean was close to his sons-in law, Larry Clark, Norm Pfaff and Don Mueller, and daughter in law, Jeanette Bullock.
Dean had 13 grandchildren: Michael Bullock, Ryan Bullock, Tena Eastburg, Jonathan Clark, Sara Trappett Anthony Mueller, Brandon Mueller, Casey Carlson, Camille Pfaff, Tommy Dean Pfaff, Brayden Burke, Kate Burke and Lauren Burke.
Dean had 4 great grandchildren: Ken Trappett, Cole Bullock, Piper Bullock and Cooper Bullock.
He is also survived by brother in law Dean Carson as well as 9 nieces and nephews: Ron Carmichael, Karen Saurermann, Robyn Carmichael and Kristin La Mont, Jill Carson, Terri-Sue Lopez, Susan Tate, Gayle Ramalgia and Gary Carmichael.
Dean wished to be cremated. A joyous celebration of Dean's life is planned for mid June. Details will be announced and all who loved him are invited.
