Clifford Walter Mueller was born on September 15, 1934 to Christian and Stephanie Mueller of Jamaica Queens, New York. He had 7 siblings including: Dick Mueller of Pennsylvania, Don Mueller (deceased), Margaret Burnett of North Carolina, Kenny Mueller of Florida, Jack Mueller of Florida, Barry Mueller (deceased), and Steven Mueller (deceased). He attended Thomas A. Edison High School in New York where he studied to be an Electrician. He served for more than 65 years as an Electrician and Foreman, supervising the wiring and construction of high rises throughout New York City and Denver.
Clifford is survived by his loving wife of almost 20 years, Marguerite (Maggie) Mueller. He is also survived by three children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren: Christian and Sue Mueller of Bailey, CO and their children Joshua, Jacquie (great grandchildren Christian and Juliet), Sean and Johannes; Adam and Kris Mueller of Littleton, CO and their children Kendra and Amber; and Lauren and Phil Burgess of Castle Pines, CO and their children Gabrielle and Kona. He was also blessed to count Maggie’s 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as family: Tony Bitonio and Elena of Hanford, CA; Kathy Wright and her children Arian (great grandchild Wolfe) and Jade (great grandchildren Olivia and Max) of Long Beach, CA; and Mike (deceased) and Debbie Bitonio and children Katie, Joel and Lucas of Lakewood, CA.
Clifford was a fabulous cook, a talented gardener, a devout Catholic, an advocate and public servant. In 1985, he moved to Sheridan, CO and began serving on the City Council. He served in various capacities for the city, including launching and organizing Sheridan Celebrates in 1990, for more than 30 years - until he retired in 2015. After retirement - he continued to serve on the Board of Adjustments until his passing. In addition, he served on the Denver Regional Council of Government (DRCOG), AARP, and participated in both state and local government initiatives.
More than anything, Cliff was a family man, always there for his family whether at holidays, birthdays, plays, soccer games, moving, building homes, wiring decks or simply spending time with his grandchildren. He was a hardworking, fun loving, dedicated man who gave 100% to everything he endeavored. His smile, laughter and dedication to all to of the people and things he loved will be sorely missed.
A mass in celebration of his life will be held at Holy Name Catholic Parish 3290 W. Milan Ave, Sheridan, CO on Wednesday March 21, 2018 at 11:15 am. A rosary will be said immediately preceding at 10:30am, and a reception will immediately follow mass in the church hall. “In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Vincent de Paul http://www.svdpusa.org/ or the St Jude Society https://www.stjude.org/.”
