Rick left peacefully, asleep next to his wife of 18 years, Joan Rosvall while they were in Rifle, Colorado visiting family. Along with his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Heidi, Stephani, and Brittany. Rick was grandfather to 13 grandchildren, six from the daughters of his first wife of twenty years, Lindy Strickland Rosvall, and seven more he kindly adopted from Joan Bergvall-Kipping Rosvall.
Born in the now historic Denver Children’s Hospital in 1948, growing up Rick was the master of all trades, playing several sports at a highly competitive level, but also excelling at music and dance. Athletically, he had a particular love for baseball and golf in the summer, and skiing and hockey in winter. Artistically, Rick was a professional ballroom dancer, a member of the Colorado Concert Choir, and even played alto saxophone solo and in jazz ensembles. Rick attended Southern Missionary College before joining the Army, where he served in Munich, Germany until his honorable discharge in 1972.
Arriving back home in Denver, he bought into his father’s auction house on South Broadway and worked there until its closing in 2002. Rick married Rolinda Stricklend in 1974 and raised his three daughters in Denver, where he used any spare time to take the family water skiing, to Rockies games, or ice skating. He loved a party and was always inviting others to come along and share in the enjoyment. Rick became an esteemed member of the International Society of Appraisers in 1976 and continued appraisal work until 2018.
Rick married Joan Bergvall-Kipping in 2002 and opened a fine used furniture store on Broadway in downtown Denver until 2008, enjoying his golden years travelling abroad visiting family and friends.
His passing leaves a hole that can only be filled by the love he shared and the lives he touched.
