
Carol Colvett of Golden, Colorado died from natural causes at Collier Hospice in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on February 4, 2025. She was born on December 31, 1935 to Herbert and Anna Colvett at Norwegian American hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
Her family later moved to Valparaiso, Indiana where she attended school at Morgan Township School and graduated in 1953. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Michigan State University in 1957.
Over many years, Carol had numerous jobs in many different professions such as a buyer for the Chicago based department store Marshall Field & Company, Educational Testing Services, bank manager at the Denver branch of Citicorp Bank. In her 60s, she found her true passion as an interior design consultant at Davis and Shaw, and Howard Lorton Galleries in Denver.
In her spare time, Carol loved gardening, sewing, cooking, had a lifelong love of dogs, family history and genealogy. She also volunteered as a tutor with the Whiz Kids program for elementary school children.
Carol married Bill Urschel. They had two children and later divorced. Carol is predeceased by her parents, her older brother, and her younger sister. She is survived by her son John Urschel from Lakewood, Colorado, her daughter Lisa Cramer from Littleton, Colorado, and her granddaughter Sonja Cramer.
A memorial for Carol was held on May 31, 2025 at Mile High Church in Lakewood.
