Barbara married at a very young age, to her childhood sweetheart, John Richard Clark. They had two daughters but separated after 19 years of marriage. She then moved to Memphis, TN, then to Colorado Springs, CO where she resided for the past 46 years. Barbara and her then husband, Bernard Neff, adopted two sons.
Barbara was known for her wicked sense of humor, storytelling, and intellect. With little effort, she turned mundane incidents into funny and insightful stories that delighted family and friends, most especially her children who loved hearing them over and over.
Barbara pursued her bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida in her early thirties and continued her studies to earn her Master of Business Administration in 1976. With her undergraduate degree in computer programming and her MBA, she spent her professional career providing information technology support as a Systems Analyst in the banking industry and various large corporations.
After retiring, Barbara developed a passion for sewing and quilting. She dabbled in other hobbies including stained glass making, embroidery, and cooking. And she loved all kinds of logic and word puzzles.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; former husband Richard Clark; sister Colene Michelle Murph; sister Patricia Newlands. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Robin Clark and Lorelei Clark (James Noble); granddaughter Gabriella Noble; son Richard Cameron Neff and his children Kayla and Jeremiah; and Michael Bernard Neff (Kim Neff) and his son David. In addition to her family, Barbara leaves behind her lifelong friend, Katie Bradshaw, whose friendship has spanned 65 years.
Instead of funeral services, Barbara asked that her ashes be spread over the ocean.
