Barbara Jean Barnes

08/25/1935 – 06/22/2019

Barbara was born in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri, and later moved to Parsons, Kansas where she graduated from high school and attended Parsons Junior College.

She worked at K.U. Medical Hospital in the Outpatient Department and then for Doctor Thiel, MD on Country Club Plaza.

She met and later married Claude Barnes Jr. on February 2nd, 1957 did child care in the home in Centennial Colorado for about 30 years. She moved to Windcrest on February 5th, 2015.

She loved Mahjong and reading.

She is survived by her loving spouse Claude B. Barnes Jr.; her children: Carrie Elaine Barnes Melon (Tony Melon), Connie Gale Barnes Groven (Paul Allen Groven), Timothy Dale Barnes (Katherine Gunton Barnes), and Alan Eugene Barnes. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gladys Lucille Melton Bilger and Denzile Eugene Bilger as well as her brother Richard Dale Bilger.

A memorial service will be determined.
