Armeda Murray

November 20, 1934 – February 22, 2019

Armeda of Golden, CO, after a courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully at The Collier Hospice Center, in Wheat Ridge, CO with her daughter and husband by her side.

Armeda was born in Los Angeles, CA to Jennie and Phillip Lopez. The family moved from Redondo Beach, CA to Delano, CA in 1942 where Armeda received her elementary and high school education. She also attended Visalia Junior College before accepting a career with the Southern California Gas Company that spanned nearly 40 years. During her retirement, Armeda was vibrant and had a passion for her family and the many new things life had to offer. She loved to travel, square dance, shop, search for antiques and do a daily crossword puzzle. After visiting Jeff and Stacey’s cottage on Hay Bay in Napanee, ON and enjoying the hospitality of family and friends in the Napanee area, Russ and Armeda dreamt of owning a cottage of their own to spend more time there, especially in the summer months.

Armeda is survived by her husband Russ, daughter Kristinn (Tim) Egenes of Calhoun, GA, stepson Jeffrey (Stacey) Murray of Whitby, ON, grandson Andrew (Catherine) Egenes of Atlanta, GA, Caleb Egenes of Calhoun, GA, granddaughters Abigail and Olivia Murray of Whitby, ON and her precious great granddaughters Molly and Nora Egenes. Also survived by her sister Lillian Doty of Pismo Beach, CA, niece Melanie (Maury) Cohen, nephew Rob (Teri) Doty, grandniece Lauren (James) Blattler, grandniece Megan (Thomas) DeLay, grandnephew Evan Peterson and great grandniece Ella Blattler.

Armeda is predeceased by her father Phillip, mother Jenny and brother-in-law Jack Doty.

Armeda’s family would like to thank the staff at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, CO and the staff at St. Anthony Hospital’s ICU in Lakewood, CO all of whom provided her with first class care.
