Teresa Valenzuela passed away peacefully with family at her side. She was born April 2, 1934, in Tucson, Arizona, and died August 16, 2022, in Clermont, Florida. Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Fernando Valenzuela, and her son, Andy Valenzuela.
She is survived by her children: Mary Anne (Wayne) Crawford, Cathy (Rick) Bernhardt, Alicia (Theo) Christenson, Tony (Kent DeJong) Valenzuela, and Patty Valenzuela (Andy’s widow); 9 grandchildren: Cristina, Andrew, Ricky, Robby, Dana, Katie, LeAnn, Andrea, and Jaklyn; 7 great-grandchildren, and niece Alice(Peter) Loth.
Teresa attended the University of Arizona and married Fernando in 1959. After raising her five children and the passing of her beloved husband, she became a Sunnyside School District teachers aide. Teresa was an avid gardener, cook, and seamstress. Teresa loved Arizona Wildcats basketball, PBS Masterpiece Theatre, and reading mystery novels and National Geographic issues. The loss of our Moogie, Nana, and Weena will be felt in our hearts for the rest of our lives; yet we have peace knowing she is with her husband and son in heaven. Her family will schedule future celebration services to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local PBS station or Ronald McDonald house
