Susie was raised in Coral Gables, Florida and graduated from Coral Gables High School in 1962 before continuing her education at the University of Tulsa. She was a proud and active member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and continued to support the organization throughout her life.
Following her graduation, Susie embarked on a career with Delta Airlines as a stewardess. Her professionalism and dedication earned her a spot on the crew of the inaugural flight of the DC-10 from Atlanta to LaGuardia in 1970, a distinction that she cherished. After raising her two children, she became a realtor in Miami, Florida with the esteemed real estate brokerage firm, Esslinger, Wooten, Maxwell.
Susie fell in love with the town of Celebration, Florida after moving there in 2004. She would often be seen pedaling her pink tricycle around town, or meeting up for Pinochle or Mahjong. She enjoyed the sunshine, picnics in the park, yoga with Thriving, and all things Lilly Pulitzer. Her friendships were very special to her. Susie had a heart of gold and always chose to look at the bright side of things.
Susie’s most treasured and valued role was not as a stewardess or a realtor, but rather as a loving mother. She was alway supportive, dedicated and loyal. Her home was a sanctuary filled with joy and positivity. She showed unconditional love and support to her friends and family, and was a wonderful grandmother to her two granddaughters.
Susie is survived by her son, Warner Peck of Winter Garden, FL, her daughter Patty Hooker (Robert) of Louisville, KY and her beloved granddaughters, Sophie Hooker (18) and Molly Hooker (16).
In accordance with her wishes, no funeral services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Celebration Foundation at celebrationfoundation.org which is in Celebration, FL., or the Delta Pi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma (University of Tulsa).
