Susan Miller Kinney

She was born on June 23,1949 in Clearwater, Florida, daughter of the late Elisabeth and Charles Miller. After graduating from Okeechobee High School, Susan went to Florida State University and received her degree in Elementary Education and her master’s degree in Library Science.

Susan was a media specialist with Orange County Public Schools for forty years. She dedicated her life to instilling the love of reading in children.

Susan is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Edwin Kinney, their children, Elisabeth Kinney Telkamp (Steve) and Jeffrey Kinney (Brittany), and their seven grandchildren - Ashlyn, Mason, Jodie, Trevon, Zay, Austin and Ayslin. She is also survived by her brother David Miller (Maury) and his daughter, Jennifer, and many loving in-laws and long-time friends.

Susan enjoyed reading, the beach, crafting, home decor and gardening, fashion, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at Maitland Presbyterian Church, 341 N. Orlando Avenue, on Saturday, March 9th beginning at 3:00 p.m. The family will host a reception at Carmel by the Lake Clubhouse at 1150 Carmel Circle Casselberry, FL 32707 immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Susan’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
