Sandra Lee "Sandy" Fielding born August 13, 1941, passed away peacefully with family by her side as they held her hand on Monday July 17, 2017 after a short and courageous battle with brain cancer. Her firm belief in God sustained her in her struggle and gave her peace. She was born in St. Louis, MO to Mr. Clarence and Eda Mae Gahr in 1941. In 1949, her mother married her second husband, William Waymeyer, whom Sandy considered her father. Her parents went on to have three more daughters that she adored. Sandy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a graduate of Ladue High School. In 1959 she attended Loyola University in New Orleans where she met her husband Donald Fielding on a blind date and on September 3, 1960 they married in St. Louis. A longtime resident of Florida, Sandy spent the last 47 years of her life in Maitland, where she raised 5 children, was an active member of the Junior League, PTA and was very active in her church families, especially St. Alban's Cathedral for the past 12 years. She was loved by many and had countless friends. She loved her family, traveling, New Smyna Beach, great wine, good food and her pups. She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Donald, her mother, her step-father, her sister, Maryanne Waymeyer and her father. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Don Fielding, her daughters, Liz Spivey (Bill), Lee Siebert (Rich), Gayle Anson (Andy), son Chris Fielding (Danielle), 8 grandchildren, Christopher Siebert, Sarah Siebert, William Spivey, Nicholas Siebert, Andrew Anson, Luke Anson, Wyatt Fielding, Sawyer Fielding and her sisters Cathy Waymeyer and Betsy Waymeyer Toedebusch (Brian). Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Friday, July 28th at St. Alban's Cathedral 3348 Aloma Ave., Oviedo, FL 32765. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St. Alban's Cathedral or Hospice of the Comforter, 480 W. Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714
