Robert was born in Calumet City, IL to August and Stella Seaman. He worked as a Police Officer for the Hammond Police Department (Hammond, IN) for 44 years. He was a WWII veteran and served in the Navy. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and dearest friends and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Robert is preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis (Flynn) Seaman and second, wife Bernice (Meinzer) Seaman along with his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews and dearest friends.
Robert is survived by loving daughter, Catherine (Ben) Clemens; Granddaughters Brittany and Shelby; Grandson, Benjamin (Ninfa); Great- granddaughter, Adaline Grace. Robert is also survived by loving son, James (Tiffany); Granddaughters Jennifer (Alex) Strauch, Nikki and Kristin Seaman. He is also survived by sister, Joan (Seaman) Botman and his dear “lady friend” Alice Middaugh.
Although Robert (Our Bob) is physically gone we think of him daily. Many family and friends have reached out with touching memories and thoughts. Many said that he was a “gentleman’s gentleman”. That was Bob...a class act. He always ended his calls with “Love you all” which he did. He loved us all.
Private arrangements have been made for October 2023 aboard the USS Yorktown in Patriots Point, SC.
