Peter "Pete" James Pierce

Peter James “Pete” Pierce ,85, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Pete was born on December 8, 1939, in Florence, South Carolina, to the late Marie Blackmon and William Burt Pierce. Pete lived a life devoted to service and community.

As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Pete served his country with honor and integrity. After his 20 + year military career, he became an Aerospace Technician at United Space Alliance, dedicating 30 years to NASA. Pete was also an active member of the VFW and Moose Lodge.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Sam Pierce. Pete is survived by his wife of 33 years, Bonnie, his children, Jimmy (Jamie) Pierce, Wendi (Jonathan) Mott, Beth (Michael) Prosser, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brother Danny (Cindy) Pierce of Florence two nieces Kim (Scott) Matthews of Florence and Elizabeth (Sammy) Windham of Lamar and numerous great nieces and nephews. Pete’s legacy of service, humility, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A celebration of Pete’s life will be held on Saturday, April 12th, at 2:00pm, at the Satellite Beach VFW. Donations in his honor may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
