Peter graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn then moved to Pompton Plains, NJ. He worked as a photographer for The Star-Ledger newspaper before moving to Florida, where he freelanced as a photographer for The Orlando Sentinel. Photography was his passion and he loved photographing Florida’s natural beauty, wildlife and many rocket launches. He also loved cars, football and Doo-wop. Peter leaves behind his children Laurie Kaleta, Kenneth (Jennifer) Kaleta, and Monica (Robert) Hollenbeck; grandchildren; Marian, Ryan, and Vivian; his brother Paul (Kathy) Kaleta, nieces and nephews Christine, Steven and Daniel, and his dog Nugget. He is pre-deceased by his parents Peter and Elizabeth Kaleta.
Peter will be remembered for his friendliness, laughter and talent. There will be a private service for the family.
