Pat is survived by her husband James of 63 years, daughters Gigi Gardner and Kathy Parks (Warren), granddaughter Desiree’ Recanzone (Clifford), several nieces and nephews and predeceased by three brothers, George, Chris and Fred Jr., parents Fred K. and Georgeann Thomas. She moved from Iowa to Coral Gables, Florida in 1952. She met her husband, James while working for Southern Bell in Coral Gables, FL. They married on August 14, 1955. They relocated to Daytona Beach in 1962 where they remained and she raised her family.
Pat was a social butterfly that never knew a stranger. She loved everyone and was loved by all. Pat had many interests. She enjoyed painting and has created many pieces of unique ceramic art over her lifetime. She was an avid reader and was always reading (or listening to) a book. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing pogo online, brunch dates with her girlfriends, getting her nails manicured, and her hair styled.
Pat was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She was a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She filled all of those hats with love, kindness and generosity.
The family of Pat wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Halifax Hospice Center of Port Orange for the excellent care she received in her final days.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Patricia Gardner to Halifax Health Hospice of Port Orange, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129, or to the American Cancer Society at:
