In Memory of Michael C. Cosgrove 1951 - 2016 Titusville, FL – Michael Cornelius Cosgrove, 65, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 in Titusville, FL. Mr. Cosgrove was born February 28, 1951, in Geneva, NY. He was the son of the late William Michael Cosgrove and Mary Evelyn (Brunet) Cosgrove. He graduated from De Sales High School in 1969. In March of 1977, he enlisted in the United States Navy and reported for Basic Training at Naval Station Great Lakes. He was married to Patricia Anne (Jones) Cosgrove of Naugatuck, CT, in 1978, while stationed at Groton, CT. They were later transferred to Norfolk, VA., where their son, William, was born. He was transferred again to Bermuda and spent five years there. He was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy as a First Class Petty Officer. They moved to Florida in 1988 and settled in Titusville. Michael worked at the Kennedy Space Center for United Space Alliance, from the Return to Flight after Challenger until his retirement after wheel stop of the last flight in 2011. He spent a lot of his free time with many hobbies including remote controlled cars, gardening, competitive & recreational shooting. He was also an avid reader of history, westerns, and science fiction. He leaves a son, William who is married to Esther Gerry of Titusville, and a younger brother Gary Cosgrove of New Bedford , MA. He is predeceased by his parents and his wife of 36 years, Patricia. Arrangements by Neptune Society: A service for Mr. Cosgrove will be held on December 9, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the new Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754. He and his wife will be interred together at the National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of St. Francis, 1250-B Grumman Place, Titusville, FL 32780.
