Joseph "Joe" Anthony Daniele III

Joseph “Joe” Anthony Daniele III of Orlando, Florida passed away on Saturday afternoon, January 20, 2024, surrounded by his wife and seven children. After a year-long aggressive fight with pancreatic cancer, he passed with peace at the age of sixty-four.

Born to Rosalie and Joseph G. Daniele on August 7, 1959, in Edison, New Jersey, he was the first-born son of four children. A determined and hardworking young man, Joe went on to graduate from DeVry Institute of Technology in 1983. As an aeronautical space engineer and systems engineer, he devoted his knowledge and expertise to several companies throughout his career.

Joe met his wife Linda in what can only be described as a true love story. The year was 1982: A cinema-worthy meet-cute. Linda was from Fullerton, Southern California and was quite the So Cal cutie. Joe was from New Jersey and was an amateur weightlifter and bodybuilder, a hunk to be sure. From opposite coasts of the continent, both families went on vacation in Aruba. Joe asked Linda for assistance procuring drinks from the bartender as the bartender would pay him and his brother no mind. Dinner was had, addresses and phone numbers were exchanged, and a very long-distance love story began. Upon college graduation, Joe sought employment in Fullerton, and on June 15, 1985, Joe and Linda were married at St. Juliana Falconieri Church in Fullerton.

Joe’s career brought the newlyweds to Centreville, Virginia, where they welcomed their first three children. They then moved to Galloway, New Jersey, where they welcomed their fourth child. After a career change, the family of six then moved to Frederick, Maryland. Through the Maryland Department of Human Services, Joe and Linda began a decade-long commitment to being foster parents to young children in Frederick County, Maryland. Together they welcomed dozens of children into their home and were honored with the Foster Parents of the Year award in 2015. Permanent and inseparable bonds were formed with the welcoming of their three youngest children, who once placed in care, never left Joe and Linda’s home. Their family was now complete, and with another career change, Joe, Linda, and their three youngest children moved to Orlando, Florida.

Every home needs a handy-man, and Joe was that, and so much more. He set the impeccable standard for how to care for and maintain a home and family vehicles. In his “free” time, Joe could be found at a motorcycle rally on his Harley Davidson, playing a round of golf, flying an airplane, or cheering on his favorite baseball and football teams, the New York Yankees and the New York Giants.

Joe and Linda have raised their family in the Catholic community and have always been active in parish-life. Joe’s faith and convictions in his beliefs throughout the past year were unwavering and remarkable.

Joe was the very definition of husband, father, and friend. He dedicated his life’s work to providing for his family and continued working even through intense chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Joe was faithfully committed to his wife Linda, whom he described as being the most absolute and supportive partner throughout his life. As a father, Joe was actively involved with his children’s numerous activities. He also enjoyed the company of his neighbors and friends; many evenings were spent sharing drinks on decks, patios, and restaurant bars.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Rosalie and Joseph G. Daniele; Joe leaves behind an immense legacy of family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Linda, and their seven children and their spouses: Joseph M. and Grace Daniele of Yorktown, VA; Christina and Daniel Storm of Taneytown, MD; Victoria and Paul Abel of Frederick, MD; Leanna Daniele of Colorado Springs, CO; and Christian, Marissa, and Carla Daniele. Joe was blessed to be known as “PopPop” to ten grandchildren: Giuliana Daniele; Sebastian and Samantha Storm; and Makayla, Anna, Penelope, Abigail, Madelyn, Clara, and Amy Abel. Joe is also survived by his three siblings and their spouses: Michael and Tammy Daniele; Rose Ann and Michael McCall; and Dina and Steve Barreto along with numerous extended family members.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 1501 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL 32828.
