John George Mavris

John was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness and was active in the ministry from a young age. He was a man of deep faith who quietly carried a strong love for Jehovah and a sincere zeal for sharing the “Good News of the Kingdom,” as expressed at Matthew 24:14. Though he often kept to himself, those who knew him could see the love he had in his heart and his steadfast devotion to his beliefs.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished family man who provided for his family as a beloved member of the Gray Manor community and successful drycleaner. He actively helped many people in the community. He also went above and beyond to be hospitable to those in dire need. He did the best, cared for everyone and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his faithful wife of 54 years, Chrisoula Mavris; his daughter, Patty Howard, and her family, David, Julia, and Angelo Howard; and his son, George Mavris, and his family, Melissa, Leonidas, and Zoe. He is also remembered by many extended family members throughout the United States, Canada, and Greece.

His memory will be held close by his family and all who appreciated his faith, love, and enduring example.
