James Arthur Brewer Sr.

As a young boy growing up in the Toledo area, James was close with his siblings and came to be a car enthusiast (especially Chevy’s). Country music was a favorite for the whole family, and James proved to be quite a singer.

In February 1965, James married the true love of his life, Sharon. They had three sons in Toledo, before moving to Glendale, AZ in 1978. James and Sharon spent most of their retirement years in Prescott, AZ, which they adored more than any other place.

James started his work life as an iron worker in Toledo, before running his insurance agency in Arizona for 20 years. He was an avid golfer his whole life. Between outings to the course, he took on ambitious home improvement projects, single-handedly renovating their retirement home inside and out.

He was a devoted husband and father. He was thoughtful and creative, and loved telling jokes and singing along to the radio. Everyone could rely on him to help them however he could, and to do the right thing.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, and sons James and Jeffrey.

He is survived by his son Joel (and wife Lauren); grandchildren, Jacquelynn, Abigail, Adam, Perla and Conrad; and great-grandchildren, Alaina and Charlotte.

James’ and Sharon’s remains will be placed together at Arizona Pioneers’ Home Cemetery in Prescott, AZ.
