He was born on September 14, 1938, in McArthur, Ohio, where he grew up with his brothers, Harold, Frank, Gary, Marvin, Melvin and sisters, Freeda and Sharon.
Herbert worked as a vendor and owned his own Gulf station as well as being the owner and operator of Young Motors Car Lot in Chillicothe.
He was actively involved in listening to polka and Christian music.
Herbert was preceded in death by this parents, Lafe and Audra Young; brothers, Harold and Frank; and sisters, Freeda and Sharon; and ex-wife, Donajean Hansen.
He is survived by his children, Rickey, Jeffery, and Keith; and brothers, Marvin, Gary, and Melvin.
